Children’s Bergen – Kids’ Gateway to the Fjords

If you're planning on seeing the fjords with your children during your Scandanavian travels, make sure to take a city tour of Bergen, known as "The Gateway to the Fjords."
This charming Norwegian city offers a rich historical tradition and culture, as well as exciting city life.
Kids will enjoy many attractions, including Barnas hus, a center that hosts children's activities on Saturday mornings in Bergen. They'll enjoy underwater creatures such as penguins, crocodiles and seals at the Bergen Aquarium or have a close encounter with fetid finned friends at the Fish Market. The Railway Museum and Steam Railway will stimulate their imaginations while transporting them back into the history of Norway's train system. Many more activities are available for children: check online or with your travel agent.
Take your family to one of Bergen's many cultural festivals throughout the year, including music, art, film, and even a food festival. "Bergenfest" is held every spring, featuring different styles of American music, including folk and blues, as well as country, Cajun, and others.
